Picked up for 2 pounds at an antique place in the UK a few years ago. Was it a deal?

There is no seam to speak of, and the lip is crudely applied. Small kickup on the bottom.

Hi, two pounds, thats about $3.50 right? About the price of a Big Mac and fries. For that price you got at the very least a pretty, crude, late 19th century bottle. I have a feeling these a common, the Brits made a lot of bottles, but I could be wrong. May be, one of the fine English chaps on the board could be of more assistance.
Not much help i'm afraid. Good luck, Rich - lobeycat

Hi Paul,
Even if it is a common bottle, which I am far from being certain, it is a nice coloured one for your shelves. I have had one in the past, but not at present.

All the best mate!
