I found an old dutch liquor bottle in a Swedish recycle bin for glass!

The name of the manufacturer and Amsterdam are embossed at the bottom of the bottle. The height is about 18 cm, volume 2 dl and colour dark greenish brown. The label is still on the bottle, saying that Fockink guarantees the content (green curacao) as long as a little red bottle neck label is intact.

I suppose these bottles are common? Is it from January 1899 as the label says?

Greetings from Sweden!

Hi, if I remember correctly Fockink distillery has been around since the early 1700's so there aresome old bottles out there with some value. I've seen a early black glass piece at an auction that went for 5 or 6 hundred. On the down side there still in business today producing a number of liquors. Seeing that you found it in the recycle bin I'd guess it's a new bottle with little or no value unless you own the recycling plant. But you never know, sometimes old bottles do get thrown away so look into it before you put it back in the bin. Below is a version of an older Wynand Fockink, not the oldest I've seen though. Good Luck, Rich.

Hi Rich and thanks for your replay!
The bottle must be old, since it is hand blown (turned in the mold). In the same recycle bin (wish I owned a recycle plant!) at the time when I picked up the Dutch bottle, there was a broken Swedish beer bottle from 1903 + another old bottle, also in pieces. Probably all three were tossed away by the same person.

My bottle has a big dot instead of a star in the botton.

Greetings from Sweden!

Hello Andy,

Welcome to the Blue Pages, and here's a Link to your Auctions.

Do you collect for yourself, as well as sell @electronic auction?

Please show & tell with us a bit...
