Hello everybody,

I collect picture, or slogan, druggists bottles and would like to see if the bottle collectors here could help me out.  I collect them from all over and I have some examples here to show what I want.  I started collecting these a couple of years ago and really like them.  They do not take up a lot of space and usually cost less than most other bottles as compared to sodas, bitters, etc....  I also collect Oklahoma bottles especially McAlester, North McAlester and South McAlester ones.  Please let me know what you have.  Even if you have a bottle that is not sale I would like a picture of it so that I know what is out there.  Thanks for your time.

This Quaker Drug Company is from Seattle, Wash.

Hello, I have seen a few of these Deetken bottles.  I used to live in Rapid City, S.D. and saw one for sale and a local bottle collector had a couple of different sizes.  The aqua older style bottle that looks like a patent medicine is more common than this one.  I have druggists from Terry, Lead, Deadwood, Rapid City, and Hot Springs but not the one you have.  I would love to be able to dig one also.  Great bottle!

im assuming this was towards the end of his career/life (passed in 1915 or 16). Has to be early 1900's to then. i'd love to know what that picture is supposed to be on the bottle.
This one is 3.5" tall.

I can't see your picture real well but it looks a lot like the one I found the other day. I have found one like this before but sold it. I have always liked this design. It looks like it was a hand held mirror or a fan with the Druggist's initials on it.

Hey Stephen,
I've got a few in my limited medicinal collection. Here's one with a drug dispensing paddle. I think that this design would be popular but I can't think of any others like it from around here.

This next one features a cross on it. Kind of universal symbol you'd think.

Okay. I saved the best for last. This one is enough to make me want to collect medicines. It is a green drops for pain bottle from Milwaukee. The bottle is semi-rounded. Straight on the sides, rounded on the front and back. The entire front is  a picture. It features an asain man with a pony-tail mixing something at a table / counter. There is also a mortar and pestle in front of him, a stove with something cooking, some scales, a bunch of bottles and jars, a door, a thermometer?, some crocks on the floor, some kind of grinding thing-a-ma-jig, etc. . .

The bottle is blue aqua. Two pictures coming. This first shows the shape and color.

Next, here is a flashless pic to show some detail. While this is a crude and nice example, it does have some slight inside stain that you can see.

I thought of one more. This one is not as unusual. It features a mortar and pestle.

Hello Ancientdigger,  I have always thought this type of picture was of a handfan.  A lot of druggists gave out free handfans as advertisement and maybe this is where this picture came from.  I know the aqua Deetken is from the 1890's and yours looks like around 1910 or so.

Hello Staunton Dan, a fellow bottle forum member said that you might be a good source of picture druggists or colored ones and here you have left a post on my thread.  Kind of works out.  So, do you have anything that I might like?

Blobbottlebob, I like the Oconomowoc with the spatula or paddle.  I have a red cross similar to yours but I might be interested anyway.  I try to stay away from pestle & mortar picture druggists unless it is colored or has some unusual embossing.  That bottle from Milwaukee is definitely a little unique.  I was trying to make out the picture or the embossing on the bottle and it was hard.  Do you have an idea about how much you might want for them?  I need the Prasch Bros. from Burlington, Lion Drug from Fond do Lac, amber Boyden's from Hudson, King's Pharmacy from Janesville, Bellerue from La Crosse (either clear or cobalt), Trott from Milwaukee, Trompczynski from Milwaukee, Bartel from Milwaukee, Young & Pellett from Oconomowoc, Schubert from Watertown, and last but not least the Stapleton from Watertown.

Milkglassbottles, I already have the Sullivan from Boston, not both varieties though.  Got anymore colored or picture druggists?  Plain colored druggists with no picture is OK also.
