How poor were ya. "We we're so poor we couldn't afford pictures of the kids. So we had to frame adds and tell people they were ours" And that's just what they done in this time peroid. Well to decorate w/. This is a Mellins add from around 1893[Newsaper  backing was so dated] I was hoping this was Bogey as this was the co. his infant pic was used with not Gerbers. To no avail he wasn't born yet. Killer frame. Not sure what it is made of or how.

Frame looks like burl walnut. Damn nice ad. Store poster? Got to be worth a few bucks even with the damage. I'd have a kitchen table restoration project going with that.

Thank ya there Mr. lobey. Yea when I bought it for 55.00 I was hoping it was worth something. I was really hoping for an infant Bogey. I guess it came from up North as the paper was German language. It fell apart when I touched it. Burl Walnut? It's a verneer, but nice. The old black man frame had some kind of verneer on it also. Not like this one. Damn it's nice to have something you approve of. When I get my house finnished going to have to post that too and get the Official Lobey Approval. Paula wants in that Jacuzzi thats been upstairs and almost hooked up for 7 years. Just need to get my faucets in.
