What's your guess for G.E.S.S. - 9/1/2008 3:12:30 PM    GuntherHess Posts: 5160 Joined: 12/13/2004 From: Frederick Maryland Status: offline Found a small ointment bottle not in my medicine guide. CAREY"S G.E.S.S. OINTMENT WAVERLY NY. This is the Dr Carey of Marsh Root fame. He started out in Waverly and later move his operation Binghamton with the big boys.  It seems he got into trouble later in life when he was arrested for murder when he apparently performed an abortion on a girl and she died. My question is what does G.E.S.S. stand for? His company was later called the G.E.S.S. medicine company. The ads for Merchants Gargling Oil also talk about treating this. Status: offline The side panels have embossing, but are covered with the label. Some of the label is missing on the side & parts of some the letters exposes.
