Goodevening everybody. So I decided to go probe a new area I have been scoping for sometime. I park the car grab my probe and shovel and start walking. I am walking the shore of georgian bay to get there, and I see this real old foundation of on my right. I go to check it out, find some good spots to dig, but before I start to dig I realize I am about a 1000ft from the spot that I wanted to check.

So I start walking towards that area, it is real thick brush about 7 feet high, and then all of a sudden this guy jumps out in front of me, he cant be more then 4ft away, scares the F@#$ outta me, I back up and say " hey man I am just looking for bottles."  he doesn't say anything but "what are you doing." So I just keep walking and notice he has this little area set up, his tent is in a hole under a bunch of branches. You would never see it if he did not pop out. So I get outta that area and head back to my hole that I always dig.

I gotta a couple of bottles then went home. I get home and tell my wife the story, she says to call the cops because the cops are looking for somebody in the bush. I call the cops and tell them my story. They send a cruiser out to try and find this guy, but they dont have a clue about were to go. They call me back and ask me to come meet them. I arrive and start explaining and pointing how to get there. They cant figure it out and ask me to show them how to get to him. I agree. 2 cops and me walking in the bush in the dark trying to find a guy in a tent that is hidden, It was crazy. All of a sudden behind us you hear "Can I help you?" They start yelling get on your knees, he does and they got the flashlights in his eyes, They question him and the one cop goes to find the tent. It is me and the "female cop" in the middle of the bush in the dark with this guy on his knees in front of us. I was scared that if something happenned nobody would be able to find us, it was her and I against him if it got crazy.

So nothing happens, and the other cop returns. I can hear on the radio that he is clean, no warrants. So the cops let him be. And we walk out and go home.

What a crazy day, I did get a nice ink well today, but I will start a new thread for that.

WOW  Great Story :)   I thought I had some misadventures chasing bottles,  including involvement with the police, but that story tops all of mine.  It makes the prize of great bottles that much more special, when you have wild tales to tell of how far you went to get them.  Good luck diggin

Ha!Ha!Ha! Great story. We get alot of tent people around here. They are usually harmless and always plastered. They will follow you around and point out every beer bottle they threw down.

That is hilariousWarren, This could benefit me in the long run. Now if the cops see my vehicle in strange places hopefully they say it just Jason and he is bottle hunting.

Whenever I get discovered by the cops I simply tell them I got a hunch that Jimmy Hoffa was here and I want the reward money, they usually agree and let me dig for a portion of the reward, but it doesnt hurt to keep a six pack in the trunk for the locals !!!
