Hi all. Just wanted to ask, is their any value in collecting Wheaton glass bottles (made by a company in Wheaton, New Jersey)? I have a tall, blue, log-cabin shaped bottle that says Paul Revere on it and 1775, and the bottom says "Wheaton, NJ". On Ebay, people are always selling "Wheaton Glass" poison bottles.

Is there any value to these are collectibles, or are they just nice replicas? Bottle Girl

Collecting anything is a very personal activity so I would not discourage anyone from doing it if they liked the bottles. As for me I wouldn't give them house room! As to value - I checked on eBay and there are over 200 for sale at the moment almost all of which can be had for well under $10. There is even a starter collection of 6 available for $24 !!

Just my 2c worth.

Hi Bottle Girl. I agree with Roger. Even though they've been around for, what, fourty years (?), the Wheaton pieces aren't what most bottle collectors look for. I put them in the souvenier/decorator category. I also agree with Roger that if you like 'em, collect 'em. Just don't use them as an investment.

i have bought a few from auctions in the past..usual price of a buck each,,,tried the ebay thing with them and they were no sellers for sure,,priced em cheap too...not good market for them..unless you get the civil war generals...then u can sell them pretty well to civil war collectors and reeactors
