Found this at my 1900-ish dig site. its about eight inches long, seems to be of a pottery material, very heavy. What IS it ??? -Dave.

I think its called a wheat stone. Basically, it is used to sharpen knifes. I' ve seen these at many auctions and have a few. Here is an auction up on Ebay for something like it.
