But what is that thing in the middle. This was all found in an old military dump. If you all want pics of the thing in the middle at a different angle, please let me know. Yes it's history is quite amazing & it does kind of look like that. I spoke with a logger who said "actually the piece of chain on it was added thinking there may be more control of the hook, however I guess it didn't work out, he said the hook rolled too much? Not sure exactly what he means as I have never used one. Anyway, thanks so much for the info, so far a "Peavey Or Cant Hook" make sense. Again thanks so much. Beebs (in reply to cc6pack) Post #: 14
