Ok I dug this bottle and I am sure this is a common bottle that everyone has seen, but I have not. It is ABM so it is not that old and has an "S" embossed over an "O".
I know the bottle is worthless and everyone probably knows what it is, so tell me, lol.
thanks guys,

kaw

From the residual content in the bottle I would say it's a blueing bottle.
I've seen that alot in Sawyer's Crystal Blueing bottles.
Either that or a master ink bottle.

Sorry woody, I should have mentioned that. The blue you see is an attempt by me to clean it up using the household cleaner "the works". It is blue and has turned the stain inside the bottle blue. Once again I should have mentioned that. Thanks again for trying.

I don't see that lip on many (if any) American-made bottles. I have seen it quite often on Continental bottles (the only one on my shelf is a Danish bottle).

Does this bottle lip-finish appear on American-made bottles in the experience of other collectors here? What about in OZ and the UK -- is this a British lip?

Well I guess this bottle is a bigger mystery than I thought . I appreciate everyone trying to help. It is hard to search for any info because all I can search for is "S" or "O" or "SO" bottle, you can't get any good results doing that, lol. I am going to keep my eye open and if I find anymore info will post it here.

Well, if it is a European import, you may never know much about it. You didn't say the size/capacity of your bottle; why don't you measure the volume carefully. If it is a liter (or a half-liter), you will know that it is an import.

Though I have seen many of these lips, the only one in my collection is a one-liter, Danish rat-poison, RATIN. Mine has an applied lip, but I can see the affinity to your ABM lip. You can see that the RATIN bottle is base-embossed "1000" (mililiters). It is 10.75 inches (273 mm) tall.

I measured 1 pint in the bottle. It is 8" high 2-1/2" wide and 2" deep. There is a 1 on the bottom of the bottle. That is all the information I have. Thanks again,
