I'm a sucker for freeblown pontiled pieces, regardless the age. I don't think this is pre-1900, but I sure don't know for certain. I just liked it, and I paid $30 for it. I've seen these before in clear glass & aqua, from Italy, but they were much more gracile & smaller in size. It's supposed to be some kind of wine decanter, and the indented pocket in the side is for ice? That's what the others I've seen were described as. This one is thick, blown swirled amber, & just over 12" tall & 6" diameter. Applied handle & pontiled. Really a nice piece of blown glass, in perfect condition. I don't care if it's not worth what I paid, I like it. Just wondering if anyone has any idea where it may have come from, or a better idea of it's exact use? Thanks
