And my one and only Baltimore bottle show purchase this year......a Lyon's Powder in a gorgeous plum/puce color.....not the hardest color to find for a Lyon's but still my favorite.

Terrible picture, but I think the whiskey will fit in pretty well with this group......Gettysburg Katalysine Water, Oak Orchard Acid Springs, Carl Schultz Vichy Water, Wishart's and a Saratoga Seltzer......

Nice bottles all the way around. You know that Lyon's are one of my collecting passions.

Nice bottles Cindy. Looks like you are collecting what you like and what's not to like about your choice. BTW, the Lyons that you are talking about is not the Lyon's Kathairon is it? I found a pontiled version of the Kathairon bottle a while back. It's in the tumbler right now getting a needed cleaning.

I like the teal whitney I only ever seem to dig them in olive and amber shades

Dan,
I did a quick google search and it seems that both the Lyon's Powder and the Kathairon are the products of Emanuel Lyon of New York. Strange, considering that one is a hair product and one is a bug powder.

Caldigr - Would love to see pics of your Lyon's Powders - you can definitely do a great color run on these bottles. Is aqua one of the harder colors to acquire?

Chris - I think the dark aqua/teal Whitney whiskey is a harder color to acquire - not one I have seen often. I took a chance on this one, and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is when it arrived in the mail yesterday.

Mike - I should have a whole shelf for my "formerly belonging to M. George" bottles! Definitely some of my favorites!

Cindy,

I just wanted to share a couple more things with you...

Here is a utilitarian stepback that is from the Weeks & Gilson factory. It was pulled out when they closed in 1873, then used for many years in the Peterborough NH village store. It has some of the drawers with debossed "Weeks & Gilson", and some make-do drawer shims used from bitters crates! Really a cool and unique piece!

Mike

I also wanted to show you this whiskey that I purchased from the same woman you purchased the Whitney from.

This is the earliest style of the "Weeks & Potter" bottle, and produced at Stoddard. It is extrememly crude and whittled in a nice honey amber color. I love the single sloping collared top! I have only seen only one other example of this bottle ever.

Thanks for sharing those items, Mike. That stepback is definitely a one of a kind piece! I love the whiskey, too - I must have missed that one! I don't look on ebay as often these days, or I might have bid against you (and that is a bidding war I am pretty guaranteed to lose!)
