I found this site by investigating a bottle of Pluto Water with the Devil on the bottom. I've had this bottle for about 10 years and have been searching in my favorite secret spot for another. I did find just the bottom (with the Devil intact) so I figgure there must be more around. Could anyone give me any background info on this beverage. I must have about 1000 bottles dug in the New Jersey area - and yes - many need to be cleaned. I go with my fiancee' and try to persuade her to limit her "picks" to only intact, raised lettered, and bottles that are generally not cracked or broken, since I have to carry the sacks of "loot" out of the area. I tell her to save room for the good stuff, and don't collect so many darned ketchup bottles! I have learned to concentrate on going on expeditions in the fall/early spring months since I have contracted lymes disease from summer hunting - but I have kicked that disease's ass and no tick, fence, nor sign will keep me out of the woods, holes, and the unique feeling you get by uncovering the past! We have a large collection and one day I'll get to clean them all - I'll reply to any e-mail, especially ones in the NJ area because many of the bottles are from local distributors that no longer exist! Glad to be in the pit with y'all.

Hello axylman and welcome to the forum,
I can't give you any info. on the Pluto right now, except that they turn up at most of my digs, but not in great quantity. It is one of those bottles I call a "leaver", opposite of "keeper". Don't get me wrong though, it is still a neat bottle, but I need to be selective when hauling bottles home to join the other thousands here. I think they sell for under $10 on eBay.

Post some good group or other pictures when and if you can. All of us here love to see bottles, dirty and clean.

Whoops, I forgot to mention, that for every bottle I bring home, I usually bring home at least one tick or more(April-Sept.). I bet it's worse digging here than there. I always have bug spray w/ me and I go through 10 or more big cans per year.

We also have chiggers which can be even worse.

A sign reads, at a golf course I frequent in N.C. "Don't feed the ticks!"

'French Lick's "Pluto" water was bottled nationally as "America's Laxative," inspiring its motto, "When Nature Won't, Pluto Will."
