What? You thought you was going to see one of the River Swamp Chill or whatever they are. This is better,I think so and that's all that matters. This was bottled in downtown Atlanta in 1953 and was owned by a Black bottler, maybe he was brown. The case being this is probably the no. 2 ACL from Ga., the no.1 being Big Hit. Paula did roll her eyes on this one, said better be glad it didn't cost what I bid. Damn near. How can ya not like that Mr. Lobey?

Well Pastsy you know I don't have much interest in these pop bottles, but I love this one and I'll tell ya why...
It kind of tells a story, gives you a sense of history. 1953 downtown Atlanta had to be a hard place, especially for a brown boy. This gentleman went out and and tried to get himself a piece of the American dream. Dispite the obstacales that had to be in place he made an attempt to go git him some. To this northern boy it says something about the quiet dignity of the human spirit. God Bless the Freakin USofA

Looks to be in perfect condition. I live about 60 miles from ATLANTA and I know it was rough on BROWN BOYS in the 50s where I live ,though I was born in 1953 ,I still remember the COLORED AND WHITES ONLY SIGNS around town and wondering ,WHY? It felt like it, JUST WAS ,DON'T ASK QUESTIONS! THANK GOD FOR THE 60s AND A BREAK IN THE LONG CYCLE OF RACISM![Though it took till at least 65 or 66 to  see much of a difference here] AT LEAST IT AIN'T LIKE IT WAS! I used to have a BOBS COLA,where does that rank on the GA.acl list? Just a poor white boy trying to play that funky music right!

A sodee pop that Mr. Lobey approves of . Made my day. A lot of the lables on soda bottles tell stories, not just this one. Terry that's a bower, ya know for climbing plants. It'll get covered over and we'll have a shady place to sit. I said SIT.  Yall aint got 'em in Alerbamer? Glassman "Bobs" is as common as it gets. HQed in Atlanta, bottled in Ga. and the Carolinas. Of the two here the one on the right is kinda scarce. Left got 'em by the ton.

Wow Pat!  Looks like you won the Brown Boy.  That one has the nicest ACL of any that I have seen.  Absolutely killer.  Sorry I didn't respond to your e-mail soooner.  My PC is completely messed up and I haven't had a home computer for close to a month now.  I am at the library now bcause I have been going through ebay withdrawl.  Had to get a fix....

There is a green glass version of that bottle too.  I have only seen a picture of it so I am guessing it is super rare.
