Wine bottle!! - 9/18/2006 3:47:09 PM    frank   Posts: 544 Joined: 3/13/2005 Status: offline I found this embossed wine from 1900  that reads Garrett "s american wine  and the wine type is called virginia dare wine any value ? ps there a quart size milk bottle in the pic any value too?? RE: Wine bottle!! - 9/18/2006 10:47:17 PM    Haldy   Posts: 78 Joined: 1/21/2005 Status: offline Frank: My Dad picked up a Garrett & Co. wine bottle for me earlier this summer at a garage sale for a quarter.  I did some research at that time and found out that Garrett & Co. was the first wine company in the US and appeared to be worth the $10-15 range that Warren already indicated.  Mine is 12" tall and is embossed w/ Garrett & Co., Established in 1835.  It does not, however, have the Virginia Dare name on it.  (I am attempting to post a photo, although I have been unsuccessful in doing this in the past.) All of the are worth at least $10. I feel both of them worth $30+ for sure.. and I loved the smaller one especially virginia dare flavour would be very much special..!!!
