I' ll try and attach a picture,I' m new at this.If anyone has an idea what type of bottle this might be I' d really appreciate any information. On the bottom it has WS. SOU. G. I' m fairly new at bottle collecting although I' ve always had an interest in them.I found this while diving in the Wheeler Lake area of N. Ala.around Decatur. The bottle is 11 1/2 in. high and 3 in. wide across the bottom.I thought it might be from an old riverboat from 1800' s.

I' ve always thought these to be " pickle" bottles.
It would make sense because of the wide mouth.
It may be made for " olives" and " capers" , also.
If you look at some of the cathedral pickle bottles, they have the same shape as your bottle.
Yes, I would say either pickle or some like condiment.

I agree with woody - it is a food product bottle for the type of stuff he mentioned. It appears to be of the 1885-1905 vintage.

I would agree that it is a pickle bottle,
we get pickle bottles here from the 1850s-1870s that look very much like that.

Now that we' re in agreement on what it is, how much would a bottle like this be worth? I have several other bottles that I' ve found during dives and being new to most of this, I' m curious.

the bottle is not worth much and fairly common. i have dig lots of these. this pickle is plain looking. some that were simular, but had fancy embossing or cathedral design can be worth some money. i would love to have $5.00 for each one i have dig, that might be the limit of value .i usually put them back in the hole or give them to someone.
