I'm helping my son who found a bottle and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. He lives in a different state, so I have no picture to show you. The bottle has the following raised info. Wm Andrews Bottling Company, PHILADa(small a is underlined), color is very light blue and size appears to be about 6 inches high, 2 peice mold with blob top. backside has large A. Bottle found in Alabama. Search of the net has not revealed any info concerning this bottling company. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Andrews from Philadelphia PA was a big company back in the day. I have a couple early beer and soda bottles of his from the 1870s but your sounds like a later whiskey bottle to me. Maybe it dates to about 1900 to 1920. Are the threads on the inside of the lip or are they on the inside? It also sounds like a quart is pretty big, try filling it with water and dumping it into a measuring cup the find the exact measurement.

Hello, I got your e-mail and does this bottle look like the one you have or is it a lighted color? This is not the same name as yours but should be about the same shape. If you go to this site and click on “email us” you can ask this man your question and he will probably give you the background info on your bottle.

Tom,
Unfortunately I haven't seen the bottle and my son doesn't have a picture of it. He doesn't use the computer much either. Thanks for you help. At least I know now that the company actually existed in the U.S.
