Carobran is right. You probably just got a little 'whittle' on the base. Red could explain how it happens in manufacture. It does look like it could be an early one, but that means 1880s or 90s. Congrats on the 'new' old bottle.

Bob is right, Allen & Kepler are listed in the 1892 Watertown Directory, nice get...Alittle morte info on them and their location...

Allen & Kepler, (Alexandria Bay) (John F. A. of Watertown, and John K.) manufs. of birch beer, ginger ale, and soda, James ; also 108 Court st., Watertown.
