Found this one at a flea market, thought it looked cool, but I have no idea about its history, use, etc.

If anyone knows anything about it, that would be awesome!

Hello Chelsea,

Welcome to A-BN and thanks for bringing the wrapped bottle. How is the finer woven celtic knot part affixed? I'm assuming all the while that there is perhaps a greenish looking screw topped bottle under there.

Might the top of the screw cap be ground? If you fish around in the weave (which is nicer than most I've seen,) can you detect any embossing on the bottle? Does the celtic knot and corded collar seem original to the piece? I like the woven beanie?

There's a continuing dialogue on the subject of wrapped, or bare glass, in these parts, as you might imagine. This looks like a sisal cord perhaps. We often see whicker wrapped, larger demijohns.

Is there any scent remaining from previous contents? What size is it? The cord wrapping suggests a more personal use, as does my guess that it is about the size of a wine bottle...

Sorry to have more questions than answers...

That is an awesome woven cover on that bottle.  If it was wicker, I wouldnt have given it a 2nd look, but that is a very impressive   Never undo it.  Regardless of what is underneath, the work is what makes it.
