I scored my first bottle find at a yard sale yesterday! it was marked $2.00, got it for $1.00, not to bad! It's a clear barber bottle, embossed "T.Noonan & Sons, Boston, Mass". It's approx 7" tall, and the seam runs to the top, all the way through the lip, so it's ABM, but any ideas on actual age or value? Thanks for looking!

Hey John, Cool barber bottle. It is from just after the turn of the century and books at $15. There is also this one, 6 3/8", Square (coffin shaped), BIM or ABM, ring top top, aqua. - ABM variant. $15, BIM variant $30. Embossing: front: "8 FL.OZS. CAP> - NOONAN'S - HAIR - PETROLE - REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. - T. NOONAN - & SONS CO. - BOSTON - MASS. - MADE IN U.S.A." and this one, 3 3/4", Rectangular, ABM, ring top top, clear. $30. Embossing: front: "T. NOONAN & CO - BOSTON, MASS." and this one, 6", Rectangular, BIM, square top top, aqua. $15. Embossing: side: Crown front:: "T. NOONAN - SONS - COMPANY - BOSTON" side: TNCO Logo.

I wish I could tell you what book this is but the cover and first 10 or so pages are long gone. I have had it for 20+ years and it has been on nearly as many digs as I have in that time.

Nice bottle I really like the monogram.  Get a blacklight and see if it glows green to see if it could be SCA.

Thanks for the info Warren, much appreciated. Not too bad for a buck, then! The rest of you will have to excuse my newbie-ness, but what exactly does SCA mean?? Thank again everyone!

Duh, I knew some bottles changed color with sun (or a microwave), just not the term for it. Thanks!

a microwave doesnt work ive already tried it, it just gets really hot and could potentially crack your bottles, they turn with Ultra Violet radiation

Very nice kidd! $10-$15 Back in the day I'd fill these and ones like it with colored water, slap an artificially aged cork into it and display then in a nice sunny spot. Good find, good eye.

Here's the coffin shaped T. Noonan bottle. Dug from a 1920s dump.

Nice find john, Especially the monogram.  It's great to add to a collection with yard sale and flea market finds.

Don't worry about your new-beeness. We were all new at one time or other. I rember when I started collecting. I was telling Moses, "Now that is a nice bottle".

Ask away and post as many pics as you want. That is what this forum is for.

Thanks again everyone for the info, and nice bottles elmoleaf!! I collect mainly  medicines, blob sodas beers and waters, and milks from Rhode Island and nearby Connecticut, but I like this barber bottle.  I bought it intending to put it up on eBay, but the more I look at it, the more I really like it. I might just add Barbers to my collection. Thanks again all!
