I never post, but always read and use everyones information.  I have many bottles and my husband and I are very picky when it comes to even buying a bottle.  BUT, I found this one and I was wondering if I did good on this find. Anything over 5.00 means that I did good.  I also bought a few more, from the same lady.  She was clearing out an old home that she bought and thought that someone would like the colors she had found.  I have checked the book that we have and can't find it.  Anyone have any information that would help me to decide what shelf to put this on.

Though this type of bottle is not in the realm of my expertise, I would say you did quite well for $5.00. Congrats!

Thanks, I did a search on it, and there seems to be a few different prices and not different by a couple dollars.  It really doesn't matter, I love the bottle, and just wanted to know what shelf I am going to put this on.    I  just enjoy them for the time being.  BUT it is always nice to know the value. Maybe someone that knows more about these can help me.  I have alot of hutches, blobs and squats that I can't find any info on, and just display them too .  I have a couple that I have donated to the historical society here in town that were locals.  Is there any good books out there for bottles that everyone uses?  Also one for fruit jars?  I have a ton of fruit jars that are very old.
Thanks everyone

About the best book for fruit jars woud be "The Red Book"  #9..... unless #10 is out by now. If you have a fruit jar question, there is a "Jars" section in this forum with a lot of knowledgeable folks lurking around it!  Good luck!  Kelley

Thank you for the information on the fruit jar book.  How about a good book for bottles.  I have the Kovels book right now, anything better?

Hi Theresa, You made a good sale for $5.00 on that bottle. I just sold a XXX porter bottle for $130.50 here is a picture of it. Good eye for bottles.

These bottles were my first pontil hole dig. Actually these are the one's that were not broken, about 15 others were shattered. This was dug about 15 years ago.

I have to take some pictures of what I have out on the shelves and displayed.  I have boxes packed away.  But that really makes me feel good that I snatched that bottle up.  I have to take a ride there this weekend, she said that she had some more that they were going to get out for me.  Very sweet lady.  Her husband collects anything to do with old bar lights and signs.  They are something together.  I will get some pictures up ASAP.
