I was looking at another post with a rusty old car and it brought back some memories. This was a few years back, I was still in high school, scouting around for interesting dumping one day when I spotted a rusty car in the distance...

And then just past that, the woods was littered with an amazing assortment of old to ancient detroit iron.

I forgot about bottles (briefly) and started checking out the old cars - some of them were amazingly well preserved for just sitting in the deep woods for decades. I'm not sure what the sedan is, the car with the door open in front was a woody wagon of some sort with the wood rotted away.

Another International, this one was a wood bodied milk truck, the name was still visible on the one standing side, it was either Elwell's or Ebner's dairy, I forget which(and didn't take a pic of the side, DOH!)

58(I think) Chrysler, this one had a load of ACL sodas - Pepsis and local stuff - in the trunk that they never returned after hitting a pole or tree(damage was all on the other side), so I found some bottles after all, took all the locals and left the Pepsis...

My personal favorite, a mid 30's Pontiac coupe - would have made a great hot rod...

There were lots of other cars I never photo'd, I remember the newest were very early 60's. Of course, there was no way to actually haul any of the suckers out of there, except in peices, several had trees growing through them. I contented myself with removing every easily extractable emblem and name badge, along with some 1950's license plates. I made several trips back until all the badges were gone and all the trunks and glove compartments investigated, alas, no more bottles. About 10 years later I went back for old times sake...and everything was gone! - the cars, the trees, the whole damn patch of woods had been turned into a big housing development. Where did all those cars go? At least I still have that box of badges...

Cool story ratzilla, its always fun finding old rusted out cars/trucks in the woods.
Sucks to hear they had to take and haul all of that history away for a housing development .Any pics of those bottles??

great story, reminds me of wandering through the woods... where you can find them in columbus.
nawww, you can't find woods here, you have to drive down to the national forests for that.
Anyways, enjoyed the story, thanks for the post
