Yesterday's privy digs - 8/2/2009 9:19:46 PM    appliedlips Posts: 3508 Joined: 1/30/2005 Status: offline e      We got out to dig a couple pits yesterday and although the age wasn't great on either we found a bunch of locals. The first pit produced stuff from the 1880's-90's including a few locals, a nice marble, syringe, and a damaged but repairable railroad globe that is super rare. The second hole produced 1890-1910 era stuff including about 20 more embossed local druggists,an rare and early milk. Here are some of the bottles from hole #2. The yard had already been detected and it was my only good target I dug in the 10 minutes or so I was at it.It is larger than a half dollar, which is bigger than most tokens I have found. Clam, your right there were a bunch of other common patent meds also along with more slicks.. I'd say this variant dates to right around 1900. The dairy was wiped out by flood in 1913. The bottles are hard to find.
