it all started when work let out early, it was payday so I decided to go Christmas shopping at local store on Main St. my first stop was a quick walk along side the rivers banks by what used to be the Norton stoneware co of Bennington VT from 1793-1894 and wholesaler of stoneware until 1911. The Company used to dispose of there scrap clay/stoneware in the stream outback. I found a nice pottery shard with the potters stamp from Julius Norton, which was 1840-42 and 1847-50. along the banks of the river, even though it was just a broken pottery shard, it was cool to find it in what was likely a broken peace from the pottery itself. I also found what appears to be part of a handle with what I swear looks like finger prints pressed into the clay. I also found some nice gifts for friends and family and shops around town with some nice hand blown art glass, beautiful color.
