when i first moved here to san jose there was a dump by the railroad tracks here in town, i was told that this trash was brought here  by trainfrom the san francisco earthquake in 1906, all the stuff i found was in that time period most was burned, i found a lot of doll house stuff, coins common bottles and here is a pot lid i found slightly burned as well, this is the only one i have found to date but if it is from the san francisco earthquake it is a cool piece of history...

Here's a rolled lip XBazin Aromatic Vinegar bottle that I dug in a pontiled privy several years back. Looks like a good match to your pot lid.

Hi Dan,

They are a nice pot  lid but relatively common. I would have thought the lid was a little older than 1906 but would think it was probably thrown out in the yard several years before the quake and just got picked up with all the demolished material.
