a pot lid story - 7/7/2008 6:51:07 PM    Dansalata   Posts: 297 Joined: 10/18/2005 Status: offline when i first moved here to san jose there was a dump by the railroad tracks here in town, i was told that this trash was brought here  by trainfrom the san francisco earthquake in 1906, all the stuff i found was in that time period most was burned, i found a lot of doll house stuff, coins common bottles and here is a pot lid i found slightly burned as well, this is the only one i have found to date but if it is from the san francisco earthquake it is a cool piece of history... I would have thought the lid was a little older than 1906 but would think it was probably thrown out in the yard several years before the quake and just got picked up with all the demolished material.
