My second bottle bought was a seven up with the swimsuit chick on it. Most of this collection are locals. Well the older ones anyway.

it was an early bubble girl bottle, and would have had an ACL the label is gone, and not always can you tell they had a lable

Yep that's very true. If you will notice the very first bottle in the first photo I posted is in the same type of condition. Seven up embossed on the neck and the ACL long gone.

The reason you don't see a painted lable is that it never had one. If it had one you can usually turn it at an angle and see the borders. What this had most prob. was a paper lable long since gone. 7-Up had several different styles of bottles and paper lables. Houston had a squat  amber paper lable along w/ it's well known painted version I think Knoxville has a painted amber squat too. There is an eight bubble swimming girl bottle to boot. Also a super rare painted version out of Atlanta that brought big bucks, but the one w/ the most value are the tall ambers from San Diego, they go for around 900. Charleston S.C. had squat amber paper lable, and I'm looking for one. Oh and another two versions of painted bottles that I can think of of early year 7-Up with neck embossing. And I don't think I have them either.

Yep, Osiaboyce is right.  I was about to write the same thing.

I'll try to find one of mine tomorrow.  It it a straight side 7up with a paper label, has the 7up embossed around the neck.  Not all were ACLs. You can usually tell in sunlight if it had an ink label.

Now I know how my dad felt when I got all excited about finding the Milk Bottle Collection at a yard sale. I remember those big bottles in our fridge, when I was young.

Great!  Here's one with the original paper label.  The bottom is also embossed 'Holland, Michigan'.  So, you can see some were paper labeled and some were ACL.

I hate to open up another 7up can of worms!   But, how common is a 6 oz 7up?  I know most of mine are the 7oz size.. but I have a couple 6 oz bottles.

Morbious, Your Indianapolis Ind. u7p....does it say  Tom Joyce bottling co on it? It should. mine says, TOM JOYCE CO.
and rear reads A FRESH UP DRINK FOR THE STOMACHS SAKE DO NOT STIR OR SHAKE YOU LIKE IT IT LIKES YOU. The white is fading but the orange is not it has 8 bubbles too, so yours may have looked like this one date on bottom is 1937.
