another fine day in the "motherload" yard - 10/14/2006 6:45:10 PM    zanes_antiques Posts: 2020 Joined: 9/3/2006 From: Steubenville, Ohio Status: offline Well, I dug another hole in the yard from heaven as I like to now call it. We found some good local beers and sodas and one really nice Sarsaparilla, along with a few nice meds and other artifacts. The Sarsaparilla is "Doctor Custer's from Huntington Wva. Any info will be greatly apprecciated. Seems like this yard is going to change the face of my collection. I'll be back out there tomorrow. This was a privy and not a trash pit like the motherload hole. I'm hoping by the age of the stuff,1880's-1900, I still have another one or two good holes besides all the fill in the yard. Funny thing is they dug this privy right into the fill that was already in the yard. I think I have my work cut out for me here but it'll be well worth the effort. well here's the big picture with one of the sarsaparilla to follow I'll put a few more up after they are cleaned. Two hutches " Joseph P. Bickars/ Steubenville Ohio". Three Lightnings;two "T.H. Kelly/ Steubenville, and a " C. Zuber/ Steubenville. The sarsaparilla from Huntington, W.Va. and a Lightning pint of "McMahon/ Pittsburgh, Pa". That's a new one for me. I told you c'mon up Meech. The weather is gonna be fantastic this week. There's also a "Hoster's Wiener Beer in there too. It's a Crown Top. But really cool embossing.
