Hi Cookie, I've sure never heard of any.  I wouldn't think it would be cost effective to make them.  Repro jars are showy, in wild colors and all - immerser lids are mostly hidden inside the jar, so why bother?  Do you have a photo of the item in question?  -Tammy

Hi John,

Interesting...I'd never considered repro immersers. Like Tammy says, I doubt it would be profitable for the makers and fakes are usually made for profit only.

And I don't know whether this will apply here, but thought I'd share. Most old milkglass will have "fire" in it when held to a bright light. That is, it will exhibit an orange/pink glow. Newer white glass usually doesn't show that trait.

I've seen several examples of milkglass Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing Company inserts (for the BBGMCo jars) on ebay that were in fact off of the modern amber repro BBGMCo jars. The older ones have this "fire" effect and the newer ones do not.

Now whether the old, heavy immersers would show this same effect, I can't really say for sure, but it might be worth giving it a try to see.

While I have never heard of anyone reproducing immersers, the milkglass immerser inserts are often inserted into later zinc caps.  The glass survives well in dumps while the metal deteriorates.  Also, the immersers were more prone to falling out of their original caps than were ordinary flat liners.  If you came across an original immerser insert stuck in a new looking cap that was not marked with a rosette, you might well think you were seeing a reproduction.   The immerser with incorrect metal would be worth less than half as much as a complete original immerser cap.
