I dug this up today and thought it was an electrical fuse atfirst but then I saw the "m" or "w" embossed on the top. I thought possibly it had a cork attached to it but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Zane,

I have one that I dug a while ago. It appears identical. I always figured it was the cover to some sort of cosmetic or cold cream jar. The one I have is 1 5/8 in. across. From other material dumped with it I think it's from the 1920's or 30's. Just my guess

Cliff.

Maybe it's the glass 'top' for an old fashioned coffee percolator...it kind of looks like one...                                                      Joseph

Anyway there could have been somthing attached to it? Something to make stay on a fence post for electric fencing?

it's not a coffee pot top cause there's no place to lock it on to the lid. and it's not broken in any way.I found some residue inside of it like it may have had cork attached
