I always was a bit too quick on the trigger...
The blob top is from the 1800's .... I posted an article from a local newspaper I found O.S. Simonds. Not sure how to pronounce it. Go find that and print it out or tell me you can't and I will send it to you again.

The spirally soda is an extra treat for you. Saw it at the going out of business store and noticed it was a 1940's version of the 1880's blobtop so I got it to put in your collection. The only embossment is on the bottom. It has reference to 44 so I figure it was a 1944 bottle. Cool collection!!

Not sure how many more there are. They seem to be abundant and cheap around here.

Enjoy!!

Thanks alot Joel! im going to find something for you one day and when i do its yours!

beautiful bottles ill be on the look out for them at the PO! I havent had time to do much digging or buying lately i have been so busy, also, I havent been on here in a while too much to do and not enough time in the day to get it done...

i also regret to inform you guys i have been cheating on you with my girlfriend...

also our DSL is experiencing technical difficulties....they keep telling us that we cant get DSL out here...go figure...we have had it all this time yet its not available in our area... about once a month it gets turned off and no one knows how to fix it we have to call them and talk to every idiot who works there and finally get someone who knows how to get it going again then were good for another month...right now we are on netzero...dial up sucks...

that "no label" bottle looks like a "Mission Beverages" ACL bottle they have that twist in the shoulder it definately looks "mid-40s"

Spence, I had trouble with my dial up once, talked to everyone in India, Mexico, and I think a few other countries. Mine went out again some weeks later, and instead of calling them, I tried redownloading the program disk, and after doing so,  it was working again. Of course it may not help you at all to try it the next time it went out, but it would hurt nothing to give it a try.

i like her she is a reasonably cheap date...she whines around when i spend my money on her she wont eat when we go out (which drives me nuts) so she doesnt cost me too much to be around it costs me more to go see her than it costs me to go anywhere with her

You best hold onto that girl. My grandfather was an Italian immigrant who spoke leetle Engleesh.... He gave some advice to me when I was a young man... went something like this...

whena you grow upa, you marreeee a beeeeg (big) girl... she work very hard for you...
eeeefa you marreeeee a skeeeeeeeny (skinny) girl, she be seeeeeck (sick) all the time.
I thought it as funny then as I do now. God Bless him, I do miss him. He married a big woman and she did work very hard for him and was the matron of our clan. God Bless her too. Now I am that generation. I tell my kids to marry someone they love and more importantly, somone who loves them. That is what forever is for.

A picture of me and my mother in law as she showed me the pontiled shards that came out of her back yard when she had a trench backhoed to lay a pipe.

Then she showed me the whole collection. There was black glass shards, pontiled sherds, pottery shards, tooled lips. Here are a few.

.. I will go back this summer (June) and dig... They also own the old 1800 tavern across the street, complete with livery stable pole barn and cellar foundation next to that.  Bearswede, you up for a trip to Carlisle this year?

Well, you have a good point Joel ! He could dig a privy, and use it, and when he gets to be an old man, he could then go and dig it up and reminese on what he found in it !!

Looks to me like there has to be a good old dump there somewhere Joel. There was a fellow here locally that plowed up a back yard here in town, plowed hutch sodas, inks, and so on right at the top of the ground more or less. I tried to get him to let me dig in it, and he would not let me. Then I tried to get him to at least save those pieces of history and he said for me to mind my own dam business. But then too, that has always been the type of people that live where I grew up anyway. What a waste. It was no wonder why I moved out of there years ago. I always said that if I hit the lottery big, I would buy the whole town, bring in the dozers, and turn the place into a cow pasture, and dig the hell out of all the dumps I could find. A blasted house is built over top of the original town dump. Its located on a creek bank that can not be dug. I have found pieces of pontiled flasks that wash out of the bank here and there at times. Makes me sick to think about it !
