is there ever an accurate count on the #of bottlers for given beverages in any given city???

im gonna give this a try,  you could try your local city directorys will give a listing for bottlers for each year, try your local library or main library

In my experience with researching bottles and bottlers, as the size of the community grows, so do the number of bottlers, as a rule that is.  Once you get to cities, for example, New York City (meaning Manhattan and the Bronx), or Brooklyn (a separate city until 1898) it is likely that there never will be an accurate count, there are just too many, with overlapping partnerships, name changes, street name changes (where the name of the street changed, but the business did not move), renumbering of streets (this is where all properties on the street were given new numbers, for uniformity, but the business did not move).  While one MIGHT be able to get close, with a great deal of work, you will never get them all.
Not that some of us do not try....

it seems that when we lived in pa. ,for awhile, that i was finding or just that i saw soda and beer bottles from every little township in area it was strange but most of the brewers or bottlers just up and went bankrupt with out haulin in their bottles.
