Nice find sir! Granted, it is far from complete, but it is still a worthy specimen and a fine conversation piece. When a bottle is of such obscene rarity even the discovery of shards is a rewarding experience. You hit the nail on the head regarding it being a great chunk of local history, which is more important than the bottles themselves, though the tangibility of it via a bottle certainly helps. I found 2 complete unlisted milks which were the 1st generation bottles of a prolific local dairy, and they are darn cool, but my favorite milk is a half pint with the bottom knocked out, from a dairy never known to have used embossed bottles until I dug one up, as it was a very small operation and went out of business in about 1912 or so. Sure, it's not pretty superficially, but its historical vibrancy far outweighs the rough edges. I hope to find a complete one, and hope you one day find a set of Hughes bottles, but regardless we can still access the same history when we touch the glass, broken or not. G'luck!
