I have no picture. I do have a MASONS IMPROVED BUTTER JAR I LOVE! IT has correct lid and band.It is full of small bubbles!THE GLASS IS VERY WHITTLED! IT is aqua.I found this beauty at a antique mall for $14. THIS IS the smaller size butter jar.[am I right there are two sizes? TO lazy to go look in my old red book] That brings me to my question.I only have the old red book signed by ALICE [can't spell her last name.BY the way is she still alive? I hope so!] WHAT DOES THIS JAR LIST FOR THESE DAYS? WHATEVER I STILL LOVE THIS JAR! THANK ALL WHO REPLIES!

Hi Jamie, redbook 10 lists a "Mason's CFJCo Improved Butter Jar" as number 1688.  It lists a quart in aqua for $150-200.  Clear $200-250.  It also has in bold letters "Beware of Reproductions".  The redbook doesn't have any information on these reproduction jars in the back of the book.  I googled it and got a link but it wouldn't open.  No matter what you did good for $14.     Congratulations on your find!    Paul

Hey Jamie, The came in four sizes and they all have ground lips. The few repos I have seen had a crappy repo band (very obvious) and a smooth lip but even the repros aren't very common.

Hi all,

"Beware of the repros" is good warning here. They look real good, with a couple exceptions. The repros are embossed MASON'S CFJC (with no "o") IMPROVED BUTTER JAR. (should be CFJCo) And the repros lack base embossing, which should be a letter and a couple numbers.

No base embossing? No "o" beside the logo? Leave it alone.

Bob
