Hello My bottle is a cabin bitter bottle.  The lettering on it is MANUFACTURER OMAHA NEB PEILER AMERICAN LIFE BITTER.  The color is amber and I tried attaching a photo for you to view but it tells me the file is to large, so if you'd like to see a photo please email me at bluebonnets1952@yahoo.com. It is in great condition, no chips, cracks or other damage.  any info you have would be appreciated.  Thanks SAJ

Nice.
Do you collect bottles or just looking for a value to sell on ebay?
What's the story?

You ain't mistaken. It's listed in Ring and Ham as A-48 and extremely rare. The more common version (A-49) has Tiffin, Ohio instead of Omaha and that one sells for $4000-6000. I'd bet that the bottle pictured would go for at least 6-8 thousand if consigned to a good auction, maybe more; congrats on a great find!

Hello, Actually I'm not sure if I want to sell it or not.  I just found this site and thought I'd try to get some info on it.  I've had this bottle for 40 years more or less and trying to see if it's worth stirring up any interest.  I do collect old bottles just because I like them not so much for the value, it's finding them that's fun!  But if I get a really good offer I might let it go!

Thanks!!!   I found it when I was about 14 years old.  Dad took it and it's been wrapped up and forgotten for the last 40 years, until Mom mentioned it a couple months ago I had forgotten about it!  Guess from the price estimates I'm glad Dad took it away from me and Mom held onto it all these years!

I think you may be right!!!  Now I'm scared to touch the thing!!!!!   Maybe I'd better go look through those other old bottles out in the garage and see if they might be more than I thought they were!!! Are you a collector for fun or value?  Sheila

You have a great bottle on your hands Sheila.  Exact value will depend upon color, condition and character but without significant damage your bottle would bring a minimum of five thousand dollars and perhaps substantially more.  If you are interested in selling the piece I would be happy to work with you either as a broker or as a buyer.

I would of course also love to see what else you may have!

I am not sure how much more but I am almost certain that alteast one example if not a couple have sold for more than $10,000 in the past few years. It's a remarkable bottle no matter it's value.
