Hi gang, I got out yesterday early and it was a beautiful day. I headed over to an ABM dump that I've worked on and off for years. This place is mostly 1940's and 50's junk but there are older pockets here and there going back to 1915.
I planned to dig a spot that I worked on last month. As you see in the first photo this dump is thick. I have a trail that I cut years ago and use it to get in and out.

Well the classic part is this. I've walked this trail a hundred times and yesterday I spotted this.
A nice 6 inch bimal oriental med laying right there. A big part of my personal collection is bimal oriental meds as they are usually very crude and beautifully whittled bottles.

The other classic part is that I decided to dig right there thinking it should be a great spot for bimals and early abm's. Well I dug that whole place out and didn't find anything near that ago.

How does bimal stuff end up above 40's and 50's junk? I can only think some other bottle nut lost part of his hoard while packing through this thick stuff.

What ever the reason may be, I still have a nice bimal to add to my collection. Light aqua green with lots of pot stones and bubbles!

I did get a common local med 1920's bimal. Check out the wrinkled finish on this little guy. What happened?

A 1930's local milk. Pretty good one but got scratches. A near mint one would sell around $150.00

Those are some neat finds you made, looks like plenty of digging there for a long time! I always figured that when I`d find a bottle older than the dump is, that someone cleaned out an attic, cellar, or just threw out some junk old bottles that had been laying around forever, so when the trash is hauled out, you could have stuff that is already old being thrown out with the normal stuff. I`ve heard all kinds of theories from others whom I`ve dug with, but this is the only one that makes sense. Good luck with your future digs at your spot!

Thanks for looking and all the nice feed back!

pyshodoodle, that is the original popeye I think?

Mr.fred, yes its a avor. I had two but the other was busted.

Bixby Bill, sounds pretty solid to me. I was wondering if this dump was pushed at one time. The center of the dump is flat and hard and around the perimeter is filled with lava tubes and bottles.

Joe, it was a nice relaxing dig. Digging has been slow for me too. I found two privies at my last dig site but was a 50's and 60's pit.. I haven't found the older ones yet. Its a 1900's house. I need help!

Badger, great to hear from you. We got wild boar and wild dogs in some areas but other then that just mosquitoes.lol

Donald, thanks for looking. I always love your digs too! I was up in Oregon back in June. Its a beautiful State.

madman, thanks for dropping in. Bimals make my day!
