In one of my local towns, theres the remains of what was once a great industry..limestone burning in great kilns to make the plaster that was sent by schooner all over the east coast in the 1800's. It began in the early to mid 1800's and was over by the turn of the century. After the last train carts were done dumping all the impure lime waste in massive piles by the river, the locals started throwing their trash on top of it. That's where I come in. These lime piles have always turned up something for me when I have an hour or so to spare, and when I was younger, I found the remains of three different historical flasks here. I look around these piles every year. Got a few pics for you.
