This is the first time this has happened to me. A really nice Ransley seltzer from E.O. ended today around 10 PM. I was ready at the computer, waiting to snipe it. The current bid was around $20. I typed in $100, and got ready to click enter to bid. I waited until the last 10 seconds to do so. When I clicked to bid, a little spinning loading circle popped up, and I couldn't get my bid in! I was constantly checking before, and then I checked after, and my internet was not lagging or anything. I also know it wasn't my internet's fault because the timer clock was winding down at the rate it should have, no lag there. So I have to conclude that for some reason, eBay decided to glitch right when I needed to bid on the bottle. Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm really ****ed about it. I know that's life, but still...

My only option now is to wait until the buyer leaves feedback, then contact them and try to buy it from them. I hate the fact that if I get it at all, I'll have to pay a large amount of money to the buyer, who can charge whatever they like.

If it's an item I really REALLY want, I'll use esnipe. That way I don't have to sit and watch the ebay clock and risk that happening to me.

Sorry to hear that, that sucks bad. While it has not happened to me yet, just the thought of it is scary. I'm a sniper myself, and have won a few very competitive auctions with big bids in the final seconds. I hate to think of what it would have felt like to have that happen. Bad on eBay, as a glitch like that could cost a seller a pile of money in lost bids. Not to mention the aggravation to the likely would-have-been high bidder when they see the item sell to someone else for a lot less. ~Jim

I have had it happen to me a lot. That whirling circle.
I noticed that happens with my computer, my connection has been lost.
The fix for me is usually a simple click on my computer and go and disconnect my connection. Then I wait no more than ten seconds and click to reconnect my computer. That usually fixes it.
However, if this happens when your trying to sniper bid forget it.
I contacted the cable company but they can't figure it out.
Luckily, it hasn't happened when I am bidding.
