I really like the Red Rock. You only need one because I don't think they ordered more than one gross of bottles since they were in operation for such a short time. The only year I have found is 1947, what's your's.

The Red Rock alone was worth five.

In ref to the Red Rock Cola's, did you mean that the Tenn. ones are only 1947 or all of them?  I have two from Duluth, I guess one must be 7 oz and one maybe a 10 oz?  But, they both have 43 on the bottom....?   Thx for any info!

No I was referring just to the Johnson City, Tenn bottle. The Red Rock Cola Bottling Company of Johnson City, Tenn appears to only have operated in that city for a year or two before shutting their doors.

Here in Georgia, Bar Keeper's Friend is in any grocery store, right next to the Comet.  Wet the bottle, sprinkle Bar Keeper's Friend on the wet bottle, and gently rub the acl with your finger.  Hold the bottle up the light, if it looks like the paint is thin (looking from the reverse side) then be careful, because you can rub through the paint. If a bottle is loosing some of it's shine on the acl, Bar Keeper's Friend can dull it even more.  Do in moderation, learn to leave well enough alone.  Also, sometimes paint can be brightened up a little by waxing it with car wax.

bar keepers friend works great! not only on acls, but also on rust i normally soak my bottles in it,  loosens up dirt and rust nicely, it does leave a film, but is easily removed, i would never use it on a dug acl, unless i new the paint was stable, acls that were not in the ground clean up nice, ill post more pics of acls cleaned with barkeepers mike

Another thing you can clean ACL with is Wenol (it's what I use).  It comes in a tube, and I think I get it at a hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot, etc. or perhaps it was Auto Zone   It only takes a little tiny bit and applies like car wax, on with a soft cloth, buffed off with another soft cloth.  It doesn't hurt the paint, even if it is thin, but makes it look like new.   I've found if Wenol doesn't get it off, it doesn't come off.  It also works well on rust stains (because it's meant for polishing metal)

According to the company's website (www.wenol.com) it is formulated to remove stains and polish.   How did I learn to use this?   A friend who burys people had it to polish his burial equipment (lowering device, etc.) and one day, he just picked up a badly stained bottle (rust) and put some on it, rubbed it back off - and the bottle looked like new.   I've used it ever since.

Another collector, after cleaning his bottles, sprays them with Amour All to protect the paint he's just cleaned as well as to give the glass a nice sparkle for displaying.  He also gives a coat to the bottles he sells and they always look nice on his table.
