For all you myopic folks (like me), has anyone discovered a trick to keep your glasses from fogging up?  Kind of like the old scuba masks you could spit in before submerging. That would keep the fog out of the mask but I'm reluctant to spit on my glasses <grin>.
I've been dealing with this for years and I figure there has to be some new-fangled spray or something available.
Bill

They make anti-fog wipes which I have used with some success working in a Nuclear Power Plant during a shut down....It's a cheap thing to try...Jim

I use a anti fog spray for visors on hockey helmets. To make sure it is always there and working, use it before every dig(I have found it lasts for a while, use the same thing for my glasses in my snowmobile helmet). It can be bought at any sports store(if it sells hockey stuff, but you are in MI, you should be good!)

Leave your glasses in your vehicle or at home when you dig. You really do not need them. I have worn bifocals for years but never when digging. Your eyes, like the rest of your body, need exercise. Give it a try instead of worrying about lenses fogging up.

If, like me, you're really REALLY short sighted and can't do without some kind of sight correction, it'd be worth trying 1-day disposable contact lenses.

I hate getting my glasses fogged up and covered in drips of sweat which makes dust stick to the lenses and I then spend 50% of a dig cleaning my glasses, which turns me into a grumpy digger. I've found that the one-day disposable contacts are the best option by a mile. For the past few years I only wear contacts for sport or digging, and so I don't get through too many in a year makes them very affordable. And they are the most comfortable type of contact lens I've ever used in 30+ years of wearing them. A few manufacturers provide free trial packs of 5 or 10 pairs.

Kyle and Jim,
Thanks, guys. I am going to try Mike's idea first, then Jerry's. if they don't pan out, I'll go with the spray or wipes.
Mike,
I do agree with you about the eye exercise. I'll just need to be more careful about debris flying in my eyes. That is one positive things about the glasses, they have kept a lot of crud of of my eyes.
Jerry,
I haven't worn contacts in over 30 years. Everyone tells me about the advances but I never cared for them. I will ask my eye doctor about the disposables.
Bill

I would give the contacts a try.I just started wearing them and they were great for a long dig the other day.  With astigmatism, I can't do without my glasses.  Sometimes, you need to be able to see in detail in order to carefully dig out a bottle.  Tigue posted something awhile ago, about a mask you can wear with glasses.  They sell them at Home Depot and they're not too expensive.  It has a flap or something, so your glasses won't fog up.

I hear Sears has good deals on glasses and contacts, but I had to go to Walmart (that's all there is around here).  They were great, though, and with my eye exam I got a contact lens fitting.  They give you a free trial pair of contacts and free follow up appt. and/or instruction appt. if you have never worn them.  They recommended the monthlies for me, which are going to be a little expensive, so I will have to look into alternatives when I order mine.  I would think monthlies would be better because they last longer, especially if you only wear them for digging once in awhile.

I've been meaning to get some steel toed boots.

As for digging with glasses, I never dig without 'em. I couldn't. I've had glasses for nearly all my life, and can't read 10 feet in front of me without them. I'd break bottles left and right without proper vision. I've never had a problem with them fogging up, though. Never taken any special precautions yet, and I only scratched 'em up a bit.

No steel toed boots for me. Have you ever worn them when it's freezing? I almost lost my toes because of the damned things. They were tossed and it's been regular boots ever since. I use an old pair of waterproof Redwings for diggin' privies. No dumps in CA.

Composite hard toed boots eliminate the cold toe thing...

I'm lucky if I can see my glasses on the night stand in the morning let alone dig with out them...

This is what I was talking about, it has the "cool flow exhalation valve", which lets your hot nasty garlic from lunch breath blow out and each breath is fresh and cool, it also keeps the air from blowing out around your nose and fogging your glasses which is the norm for regular masks... I think they are 4 bucks for two, but it might be one...
