 here are two pieces of pressed glass i got out of dump the first one i have know idea what it is but the color is awesome! the second is a shaker of some sorts that is a cool red fading to oranghish then back to red. any info on the date they were made value or use would be great . thanxs.

Well the pattern is very simply and doubt if there is a name for it. The ruby could be made from gold being added to the batch, And I have a little lattern that has the same tooled top, but have not been able to date it it yet. Sorry not much help.
The top on my latern has Pat 18xx can't read the last two number because of a bubble. The clousure seams are hand tooled and the top is ground the same as yours.

I'd say by the continouse thread on the shaker that it is from just before or after 1900. The pinkish /reds were made by using gold and manginese and the orangeish/red color would come from gold and nickel. Maybe they got a little of all three in there or the mold was contaminated.
