The guy I bought it from in Nova Scotia said it was Venetian Glass, hand painted. He wanted only $24 bucks for it so I gave him $14.  It is pontiled and hand painted (starting to fade) Number 31 on bottom painted in gold. Any idea's on origin? Value? Thanks! Notice the hand made trivet on the wall next to the butcher's spreader on the wall in the first picture. Nice, eh? It is the most common shape for them and they are normally pontil marked. Check if the inside of the neck is ground. They come in all different colors. Not worth a lot. The number is for matching the ground stopper to the bottle, the stopper would have the same number on it. They are hand painted, pontiled with ground throats but didn't have the right stoppers with them. I only paid a dollar a piece for them. Are these considered Bristol vases too and being pontiled do they date to the mid 19th century? Any value?
