That darn Dr. Pepper, my very first soda bottle was a good for life from Louisville, KY. It happens to be one of the top four brands that I collect the most of along with 7-up, Mountain Dew, and Orange crush.

I really like the bottle with the cap acl, I have seen this one a few times; however, not in great condition. I also like the diet "DP" bottle, which I didn't even know existed.

I agree with you John.  I think diet bottles will become more popular in the future.  It seems like the diet bottles usually have some good unique paint colors.  I'd love to see a big grouping of Diet bottles.  I think that would look pretty cool.

Hey Pat.  To this day that "Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too" song gets stuck in my head when I sort through my DP bottles.  I even had a pair of jeans in the late 70s that had a patch on them that said "I'm a Pepper".  When I was 8 years old I thought that was super cool!

Hey Joseph.  The bottlecap bottle and the block letter Diet DP bottles were both only put out for one year.   The bottlecap was 1955 and the Diet DP was 1973 (I am pretty sure). Those are two of my favortite DP bottles.   I like the brands you collect.  Would love to see some pics.

Here's some of mine. No the tune I was thinking about was a little older than 'I'm a pepper' late 60s early 70s.

I tell you, I am just going to have to purchase a camera. I keep threating to; however, something always comes up. Soon as I get one then I am going to put some pictures of my collection up.

I could certainly use the practice before I start the photographic part of my website dedicated to my local soda bottlers.

Would love to see what you have Joseph. I think you will get onto the camera pretty easy with a little bit of practice. As you have seen of late, most all the pictures I post are more or less pitiful most of the time, and it really bothers me. My biggest problem most times is lack of light. I think this house we live in was built in the dark ages. Went out to the shop the other evening and built a wood box about 11" by 11' tall, by about a foot high fitted with a piece of plate glass in the top of it. Put a three hundred watt light inside it thinking that would light a bottle right up. I still can not get a good picture even with it. I have come to the conclusion the light needs to be behind the bottle not under it. Going to try and find a piece of white plastic, mount it in a rectangular case, and put fluorescent light behind, set the bottles in front it and see how things go. I try to take pictures outside, and when doing so, the light is too bright, being I can not see the image through the lens. I will figure it all out eventually. Get some of those bottles posted !

Greg, I think I gave about 15.00 for that Mt. Dew wasn't much I remember, I thought I got a good deal. How much did you give if I may ask? Did ya see the 1915s I posted? I'll get them together one day and we can work something out.

Playing with my new camera.

See that good for life second from the left. That's the very first soda bottle I ever bought in adulthood. All of three bucks, of course that's how it always starts.
