Doug, We dug one 1870s- 1880s pit about 3 years ago that has a couple hundred broken eggs in it and 3 intact ones. Heres a picture of mine its light as a feather and perfectly intact. The second picture is of the egg in an egg cup I dug the egg cup last year out of an 1860s layer. It was my second pick from that pit because I wanted it to display my mumified egg lol.

Chris

Cool Chris!I knew somebody had to have dug eggs before. It just pisses you off when you think of all the good bottles that broke on the fall or with the dip bucket and a stupid egg survives.I know I have dug a couple egg cups before but since finding my eggs I've never located where I put them if I still have them. Thanks for posting.Doug
