Gunsmoke47...

After reading these posts, I went out and bought some Marty Robins... Now I have that whole song "El Passo"
playing over and over in my head.  What a great tune!  I pulled the lyrics up on line and now I know every word.

I guess it only shows how bored I am up here in Maine with all this frickin snow!

Yeppers Wayne, not a thing wrong with Marty other than he died before his time was through.  One of the great ballad singers of all time!  You just have to enjoy that type of music. Hell, I can switch from Jim Reeves, to Marty Robbins, to ACDC and enjoy them all. Gotta draw the line with the disco of the 70's (which was my era) and the rap of today. Coarse........ I wouldn't expect the youngins to enjoy what I do either. LOL!

Hey Laur...

Have you listened to Jim Reeves or Marty Robins?  The lyrics and melodies in their songs are fantastic... nice, easy listening.  Good, comforting music from the heart.  Not from the street or the curb...

Just my thoughts... Rap is crap...

All these are good too, but I really like John Prine even got the kids listening to it. Fantastic live.My son ask for a John Prine cd  for X-mas. Done my heart good. If ya never heard him go to Y-Tube and check him out. Jeezus Kelly you look like some of my cronies you sure your not from S.C..Ya know here in S.C. is where Texas began. Seen it on a bumper sticker I did. You seen em John? How's that you say. James Butler Bonham and William Barret Travis are both from S.C. and were the commanders at the Alamo. Right. Now other than David Crockett and Jim Bowie how many defenders can you name? ? That's what I thought.

Kelly. Have you lost some Mexicans? We got butt load of em here we don't need. Maybe if ya came and got em there might be some work for Americans. I'll come out of my 7 yr. of retirement. I retired at 40 so I could enjoy myself [and the fact of the Home Land Security Act one little bit of trouble and you might be a terroist. No more Nukes for me.] How much running around can you do at 62? LC tell me.

They are just plain old wetbacks and they are leaches clinging to this country and draining its lifes blood. Who picked the oranges and artichokes before they flooded our country in the last 10 to 15 years. I'll tell ya who.....wet backs. back them we didn't need 11.5 million of them to pick crops or anything else.

They own this country and if the are citizenship challenge I want to be too. They have more social securty bennifits than me plus the get to keep their money insted of giving it all back to the government. The government lets them go to school all the way to a bachelors degree and gives them free meals, free medical and God ownly knows what else. Just like the Romans we have let to many of them come across and if we are not diligent they will steal this country from us. I get tired of all the left wing crap about them needing our help and support while there are plenty of Americans who need it also but are at the bottom of the list while the wetbacks are at the top.

Just my opinion. I am down off my soap box now.

And all the Rat Pack are tops as well as the Duke and Jimmy Stewart. Like Kelly I like pretty much any kind of music but disco and rapbonics.

A democracy don’t work that way
I can say anything I wanna say
So ***k the FCC

That is a good old one Lobey.

The President helped me get my disability pension back after a couple of demo idiots took it away. I thought when they said "If you do this for your country and were shot up and lost a limb or two that they would take care of you. I didn't know that they ment mafia style. GW's first mandate was to go through all the VA records of still living vets and give them the money that they deserve. I don't like his oil policy and hope the next schmuck in line comes crashing down on the oil companys heads. But like I said GW got my pension back for me after 17+ years. if he called me today I'd go and do the best I could. I owe him more than you know.

Remember to old one by Hank....There's a tear in my beer cause I'm crying for you dear.......

Now Cappy, No one is more happy that you got you bennys back than I, cept'in youself of course. But please....the bush legacy will linger on (like cancer) for generations. Didn't one of those "demo idiots" hand him a balanced budget with a surplus to boot?  Started a war under false pretenses that we cannot get out of with anything less than a Siagon like evacuation. Which mind you will only give the insurgents a sense of victory. As for the oil fiasco you've only yourself to blame for electing an oil man in bed with the Saudi's If you pile the man's good policies against his bad on the scale of self-rightousness the thing would flip over and land in Kennebunkport.

I relinquish the soapbox to the next dissatisfied customer....
