Well....the images are pretty good but some things can't be determined unless a bottle is in hand.

The absence of seams could mean free-blown...or turn-molded - a more likely conclusion given the overall "look" of the bottle.  The base looks very reminescent of turn-mold bottle from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.  The images show the bottle as very symmetrical which is not typical of early free-blown bottles, but is typical of mid to late 19th century turn-molded bottles.

The lip or finish is not typical at all of an early (pre-1800) bottle and seems to be tooled, not applied.  Aqua is also a very unusual bottle color for anything prior to the mid to late 18th century...even early 19th.

A good source book for styles and trends of early (European) bottles is Van den Bossche's book "Antique Glass Bottles" which covers almost exclusively European bottles.  A quick scan through it showed nothing precisely like the pictured bottle, but some that are similar in shape (like a Burgundy wine shape more or less).

Seals can feature all kinds of things in them...many dated seals were made well after the date in the seal (i.e., was a founding date of the users, or some other significant date).  Even if the heritage of the emblematic motif in the seal can be traced back to a very early time, it does not automatically follow that a bottle (or other item) with that motif is of the earlier age.

The features that I can see of this bottle - and absence of a pontil scar - strongly indicates a mid to late 19th century bottle...Bill

Gunth, not really the lumberjack type. I had to shrink that crown quite a bit to fit on that dainty little head...

Actually, my friend, it was a bit later than that... First I dug bottles (while majoring in English)... Then I became a chef... Then I became an archeologist and gave away my bottles... Then I went back to cooking... Then I started collecting bottles again... Now...??? I'm semi-retired, I guess...

Sounds like an interesting life, Ron!  I found that majoring in English was not that useful, but interesting nonetheless.  I considered archaeology, but the math part kind of turned me off lol.  And a chef too?  How did you find the time to do all of that?

Please can anyone help. I have a Rylands patent, rylands barnsley codd bottle. Property of Western & Wolland, Bermondsey. Thick glass with air bubbles and a green tint with a green tint marble. I cannot find any information on this apart from an advert from western & Wolland which is in the British Library. If anyone could tell me if this is rare, rough value and age I would be really grateful.

hi im not sure where to go but if anyone could help me that would be great i have a unopened bottle that was passed on to me for my grandfather and was passed to him from his father its called PURE OLD PANTHER **** i have no idea weather they still make it or when it was stopped being made or how much it is worth its a tall dark brown glass bottle (750ml) with a cork as the lid thing  with a white paper lable with blue ink printed on it, the lable has a picture of a panther peeing into a bottle and its insciption says " pure old panther ****" "aged in wood shed, bottled in barn" "distilled under our original process nad privite formula" "guaranteed 36 hours old" "made by B.Liebich and sons, barossa valley' south australia'F344" "produce of australia" and it has something printed into the glass on the bottom of the bottle and it says                         "14"
"a square with a line through it a triangle 72"
                                                                                                                                                " 5301"
that is how its on the bottle um the cork has like well i think its a mold or something around the edges.
