Lindenmeir folsom?  is it a mound?   did you get to do any excavating there? I know this whole area was inhabited for a long time, there are a lot of mounds in the area, but illegal to dig them. which I have to admit is probably a good thing. that's why I am excited about this site, there are no butial mounds on it.  I hope to be able to do some research as I look  so I can know what to look for as far as age.    I stayed at a hot springs one winter in N. CA.  & found obsidian points as well as a fish hook, arrow straightener, and assorted tools. It was nice because I was able to talk with some of the local tribes & hear their oral history, as well as learn what the tools were used for. Makes the artifacts & the people who used them come to life.

i wasn't verry happy when i left .there was an older lady there that had been in the club for a long time and she asked if they would be taking volunteers when they start excivating at the lindenmier site the following summer .he said only qualified archaeologest could participate.he also said the dig wasn't even scheduled yet but as soon as it was set up he would be the first out there.as soon as i got home i checked his website and found pictures of him digging a bufalo skull at the site .

half of the artifacts are in the smithsonian from the origional dig and the other half are suposed to be in the ft collins for the public to see.so i loaded up the family and we headed to the museum.they only had 10 points on display out of the remaining 35 thousand .

oh ya i forgot to tell you the lindenmeir site is not the actual site that they named the folsome points after. they are close to each other , the lindenmier site was discovered first but they didn't know that it was that old  .they started the folsome site first and named the points if they would have started a lindenmeir site first they would of been called lindenmeir points hahahaha.

I grew up next to an Indian Reservation (Schurz, Nevada). Paiute tribe.  Went to school with them K-12 and was friends with many. They had some unbelievable artifacts in some of the houses and a few in a local museum.  I'm sure they were worth a small mint, but of course they wouldn't part with their heritage - even though most were living at poverty or below. That is a big part of why I'm so interested in American Western History and Western Bottles - mostly Nevada...For a contrasting view,we could visit an old Army Post, Fort Churchill build in 1861.  I found an old cannon ball there once that's still in my garage...Ron

My question is, could if go off?  I would be worried to take a cannonball home if I found one.
