Boxed Demijohn - 2/18/2008 6:58:00 PM    NCdigger5 Posts: 503 Joined: 2/9/2008 Status: online Has anyone ever heard of a boxed demijohn? I found one today and There is a hole at the top of the box with the lip showing. You can't see the rest of it because it is in the box. The box dates 1905 and has lots of other writing on it. I can tell you one thing though, if it were mine, I would have had to take a saws all or some kind of tool and remove the top so a person could just lift off the entire top of the box in order to to view the container within. It would kill me not knowing whether or not the jar was embossed !     Regretfully, I do not know what an estimated value would be on it, if I did, I would be more than glad to tell you. I have been told numerous times by people around me that I was more or less like a pet Raccoon, if I couldn't crap on, I would tear it up.   NCdigger5, if  you would be afraid of damaging it, for sure leave it alone, would not be worth the risk !   P.S But if you do decide to open it, be sure to POST PICTURES !!
