Status: offline Nancy Your ACL should be red and yellow, the bottle also came in clear and an aqua 12 ounce size according to the GONO site. RE: Lime Cola - 3/18/2008 9:56:28 PM    T D Posts: 174 Joined: 3/17/2008 Status: offline Hey, I agree on the value unless it is of local interest to someone.  I've learned after alot of years, if you want to clean the paint, wet the bottle, take a spec of Bar Keeper's Friend on your finger and gently rub the paint with your finger while the bottle is wet.  I've never had a problem but once, on a bottle with thin white paint that I rubbed through.  Clean it in a well lit area so you can keep an eye on your progress, and leave well enough alone...sometimes you just can't get it all clean.  By the looks of that bottle, it may be too stained, but you never know.  Start on the writing on the back, they try the front. There are also embossed bottles. There was a CheroCola Bottling Co. in Texas that became a Lime Cola Bottling Co.One website based in Atlanta seemed to have some history but you had ta pay for it.Small town origins do indeed play a part in value. I've been through there lots of times, but know very little about it. I do know it's farming and fishing country. I found one census that said in 2000 the population for Clanton was 7800. So I figure in 1947, if that is the date on the bottle, there was probably very few people there at that time. But I will keep searching. And I will try to clean the label. The bottles were acl with some having LIME COLA all spelled out ,instead of just Lc. In the 1970s you could hardly give them away. I left a few just laying on the ground. Now you rarely see them! I have not paid attention what they go for now. I've seen several of the embossed Lime Colas from other states, but not like this one. Apparently the company didn't stay in business very long. I get frustrated after a while when I can't find the information I need on them. I think I will go to the Birmingham library one day to search.
