Great finds! It takes pure determination to brave the elements and asphalt-hard ground to excavate a privy in February. Sounds from your description that the pit was somewhat shallow. With indications of an adjacent privy, I suspect you'll be posting more photos of great(er) finds in the near future.

That object that looks like an alien life form might just be the handle for a walking cane. Could be an armadillo, which are not indigenous to your area (Oklahoma is loaded with 'em). The epilepsy cure is a real keeper. Never saw one like it.

A lot of times we find out it is one big double, thats how it is around here anyway.I can only go by what we find in our area. The neighbors must have gotten together and  had a privy building party  When we find rotted wood walls between the pits, and  when that probe goes into the next yard its another hole. Its great and all but the only problem is...If you cant get permission from the neighbor you cant tunnel into there yard.(cave in) but  sometimes you just cant help if a few bottles fall in to the pit your digging

Na that thing isn't a handle for a cane, its very thin glass.See where its busted? Someone has to know what it is,but so far no one does.

Thanks for the reply. Rick

THINH YOU FOR SHARING ! I HAVE GOT GET BACK TO MY BOTTLE DUMP ,ANY ONE THAT LIVES CLOSE I WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH <I CAN HARDLY DIG SO MAYBE WE CAN WORK OUT A SYSTEM OF SHARING .THE dump is from 1910 or SO ,to 1930s or so. THIS dump has been dug since 1960s with so many bottles still there. Ex amples, straigt side coke ,1915cokes and 1923 christmas cokes, all sorts of colas! So on and on! I even fould a mini jug from atl..CURES such as a bakers cure that is in the shape of a warners ,some common bitters, whiskeys,I hae been going to this dumb since 1974. At that time I could see a bottled top stcking out of the ground and at times would pull a 1915 bottle out of the ground! THIS IS A HUGE DUMP AND I KNOW IT LIKE THE BACK OF MY HAND,PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH ME FOR A DIGGING! THE DUMP IS ONLY BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE ,IF YOU WILL SHARE WITH ME I WOULD BE SO GLAD TO SHOW THE DUMP AND ALL THE SCATTERED PLACES IT HIDES! I also know a 1930s dump, that has 3 centa ,zeppzeppelin and other goodies that are not buried too deep at least last time i was there! very few have dug there that I know. I also have a special place only I know about ,that is about the end of stright coke age.
