got a couple of Kilmers, a huge ground lip jar that I thought might be a huge Crowleytown Mason, but was unembossed, plus some other meds

This is a really early half pint, would have been a killer tin top, but is pretty beat up

I was glad to get this one right at the end. Maybe there is another older vien in there. Nice smooth based teal utility!

Really nice glass, and mint.  Everything else I've got for a couple of days has been clear/aqua and stained, so this was great to pull out

Not a pontil , but a dot on the base, whatever that means ( I've heard many explanations).  Also got a great dolls head with German markings, eyes and everything - I accidently left it there - I'm hoping the guy I met down there who's been digging with me will save it if he happens to find it.
Thats all, thanks for reading

Nice mason jar.
Is the base completely flat???
Looks like a crowleytown mason. Same shape.
Post a picture of the base, if you can.

I've found older spots in dumps that were ravines when the area first started being used as a dump.  After the ravines filled up, the later dump stuff was leveled off and a cap was put on.  I ended up seeing part of the ravines profile at the top of the hill, and followed it down to where I had found older shards.  20 year jump between the bottom of the ravine, and the bottom of the rest of the dump.

Hi Woody - here's is the base to the jar, has some markings but they are either peened out, or a week strike, look almost Japanese. I dont know if this was a jar or a battery jar.

JGuis - I'm always amazed how diggers come up with some of the same methods for finding dumps just after years of doing it. I've had dumps with a central ravine, then the newer level off, then the cap. This one seems to be along an old tote path which had a field stone retaining wall, which I've discovered down a couple of feet, the older stuff is in along the base of that wall down deep. I'm hoping there's more. Lots of roots and bugs slow me down, but the good thing is I don't have to rush it, as I'm not bothering anyone out there.  Good luck digging and thanks for the response.

Hey thanks Mark, that would be great - cant believe I left it.

I'll get it from you next time I'm down.

What did your preserves bottle say on it?

A few years ago I was lying on my back like in one of the pictures you have posted. I was on my back ,scrathing up ward. I found about 10 decent bottles this way .The next long deep pull toward me came two wriggling small snakes that  landed on my chest! I am more careful and only squat down and reach under the top to get the bottles that way! JAMIE                                                            GET BACK,GET BACK ,SNAKES GET BACK WHERE YOU ONCE BELONGED!

If that base is completely flat I would say it is from the same glassworks who produced the Crowleytown mason jars.
Too much of a coincidence.
